Ad Review : Burger King makes sensational news

To express its stand on the Indian news media, Burger King India has unveiled an ad campaign for its exclusive product, the Whopper with #AgainstSensationalism. In this ad film, the news reporter can be seen talking about the Whopper in a sensational manner. The reporter goes onto exaggerate the qualities of the Whopper over a traditional burger, the unnecessary emphasis is comical and brilliant executed.

The irony in the ad crafted by Famous Innovations is what brings out Burger King's witty styled communication. It is also inline with their previous ad campaigns "#ItsNotAContest","GrilledBy2020" and "#WrapsWithoutGaps." 

In an attempt to revamp its social media engagement, Burger King like its competitors have chosen to adapt to memes and jokes to stay relevant to their audience. The surge of memes on news reporters and prime time news reduced to noise and conspiracy theories, The Whopper identified this cultural observation and turned it into an entertaining parody. I definitely recommend watching the ad.
